Minecraft Height Limit

Minecraft has a height limit, is it possible to change the limit.
I had a idea for a while of building a city at extreme height,
not a immitation of sky town but much higher although notch is making a sky world you can't see the normal word at the same time, i want to have that ability to do that.

if anyone knows a mod that does this please tell me.

I wouldn't recommend using a mod that does this unless it specifically states that the height it changes to is still stable because it becomes very buggy if you exceed the height as far as I know

A possible solution that you have is going down.

Basically, if you put enough time into farming the ground, then you can start at the bedrock layer, and build up from there, so if it is flat for a far enough distance, with grass on top, it seems like the "normal" ground level. It'll raise your ceiling by a good 60-70 blocks

The reason Notch said that it is unadvised to try and expand the maximum height is because Minecraft has NO terminal velocity, you'll just go faster and faster until the chunk doesn't load and you fall through an unloaded chunk into the space between the real world and the nether, infinitely falling

Use MCedit and just build from 1 block to 128

This would require a bad computer already though, because I never froze/lagged on my FV 2003 Packard Bell.

I think if they set the limit too high the render starts to wig out. And if you fall from above the limit it crashes the game. That's what ive heard
