    Tekkit server IP

So I have created a tekkit server, and I don't know how to get my own server's IP.

You can always connect to your own tekkit server by connecting to "localhost" .
But I'm guessing you also want your friends to be able to connect to your server ?
if that's the case, you're gonna want to make sure that you've portforwarded your server.
check out this site for a guide on how to portforward
the default port for tekkit servers is 25565.

If you can't figure out on how to do it ( even after tons of youtube tutorials and what not ... )
Let it know in this thread.

If you succesfuly portforwarded your server , your friends ( and yourself if you don't want to use localhost ) can connect to your server by using the IP you can find at, for example, this site : http://whatismyipaddress.com/

Normal Minecraft server using vannila (original) server soft.
    1. Go to www.minecraft.net/download and download server.
    2. Make a special folder for it and run minecraft_server.exe
    3. Also you need to port-forward. For each router is different settings but basics are primary the same (read bellow how set up portforwarding)
    4. Find your external IP address - www.whatismyip.org and share it amongs your friends

Normal Minecraft server using bukkit software:
    1. Download recommended bukkit build at http://bukkit.org/ - or if you want "lower" version of MC, then download the version you want.
    2. Make a special folder for it and make there *.bat file containing:
      Code:
      java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar
      pause
      • craftbukkit.jar is the file you downloaded from bukkit.org website. You will need to rename downloaded file or put a right filename into .bat file.
      • If you are getting "'Java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." You will need to probably reinstall your Java (use up-to-date Java)

    3. You need again to Portforward
    4. Find your external IP address - www.whatismyip.org and share it amongs your friends

    Tekkit server:
    1. Its pretty much the same as bukkit software. You need to download tekkit server launcher from their website: www.technicpack.net/tekkit
    2. Put contents of the .zip file in its own folder.
    3. Start Launch.bat
      • If you will get not enough memory error, then you should open with your notepad launch.bat and lower allocated memory.

    4. PortForward
    5. Find your external IP address - www.whatismyip.org and share it amongs your friends

    How to port forward:
You need to access your router from PC.
    1. Open your web browser
    2. Put router address into address bar - defaultly its 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
    3. Put in your admin name and password.
    4. Now it depends what router you are using, each router has its port forwarding in other places.
    5. Open port forwarding
    6. Into port range put 25565 (thats port on which is MC server running)
    7. Into Local IP put IP of your PC where you are running a server.
      • If you are not sure where to find it: Windows > Start > Run > CMD > ipconfig
      • You will see your IP adress starting with 192.168.x.x

    8. Save settings and close your browser
    9. Now anyone who will try to join to your PC using External IP (from www.whatismyip.org ) on the 25565 port, will be automaticaly forwarded to your PC.

    Hope I helped.
If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask.

Good luck and have fn playing with your friends.

    Cheers
    Jason
