    How to reduce lag on minecraft 1.3.1 (Windows & Mac)

    Hello,
    Today i am going to show you how to reduce lag on minecraft for the ones who don't got the best PC or mac,

    When your in minecraft your going to go into "Options" then "Video Settings" then turn these to off

    1.Graphics: Fast
    2.Smooth lighting: Off
    3.Particles: Decreased
    4. Render Distance: Tiny or short
    5.Performance: Max fps
    6.View Bobbing: Off

    While it may sound counter-intuitive, you want to set it to Normal or Far, as part of the lag is the new way chunks are loaded. I did this and it gave a 5-15 FPS boost, while small, is still significant at low FPS speeds.

    Another thing you want to do is enable VSync. What you do is you go to AppData>.minecraft>Options.txt , then find enablevsync=false and change it to true, then save. That gave me a 5-10 FPS boost.

    Last but not least, install the Optifine mods. These two links are from his twitter (https://twitter.com/sp614x) There are only previews at the moment, but the 1.3.1 full release is intended to be released within the week. The stars are supposed to be a google link. They still work.

    With those, you can change more settings, and it gives you tips on some.\

    All in all, these brought me from 3-5 FPS to 20-35 FPS
