    Get Minecraft to run well on any slow computer!

    An issue to some people is that Minecraft uses an assload of processing power. My friend and i figured this out, after we managed to get minecraft on little school netbooks, which equal ****tiest computers eve. I have run speed tests. My iphone is faster. To get it to run fast on any computer, go to task manager, go to either processes or services, find Java.exe (which is what runs minecraft) and right click, set priority, and set the priority to high. It makes it run normally on ****ty school issued netbooks. But with only with all settings turned down. Hope this helps a little. Results may vary

    I'll try this later, thanks for the information though.

    What you need to do is find the processes stealing all your processing power and set there priority to low instead of changing java to high.

    Or just end the useless processes. (For me, Steam, Itunes and Dropbox.)
    I'm back

    Fun Fact: You don't get an increase on posts if you post in the 'Forum Games' section, because of me.

    I've found that was a useful way of improving it. Though i'll try this one out later on and see if it makes a difference too ^^

    Any way of reducing usage of CPU and RAM is useful. Or I just need to get a better computer :3

    Better yet, do the same thing except click on affinity instead of priority... Select one of the cores that doesnt seem to get used;

    Dual Core; 2nd Core
    Quad Core; 3rd or 4th Core;
    8 Core; 3rd or 5h or 7th core (at least for me these are least used)

    This pretty much dedicated the core to the game... together with priority it should help make the game more stable and quicker.

    REMEMBER! 64Bit Windows means you need to get 64Bit Java!

    I use Game Booster as well. Without it the lag I get on multiplayer is just too much. It advertises itself as being the be-all-end-all of increasing game speed, but though it certainly helps you'll wanna try the other stuff in this thread too.

    E: It boosts by closing down un-needed background processes, maximising power, etc. So to be honest, it pretty much does what people have advised here, just does it all with the press of a button. Much easier.
