Using PS3 Controller in your PC with MotionJoy
Don't know if this subject has ever been posted before, but thought it might be useful for some people.
I recently started using my ps3 controller in my PC (I don't know why I'd never tried this before but generally I prefer keyboard and mouse or gamepad and wasn't aware of this software).
I downloaded Motioninjoy and although it seemed a bit dubious at first as it is isn't an official PS3 controller driver, it has been fine so far. http://www.motioninjoy.com/ (I think you will need to have the program open for you controller to work, unless they have updated that.)
So far I haven't been able to get the rumble to work but my controller works perfectly if I have the Xbox 360 controller emulator ticked instead of ps3 controller - for anybody that might be having trouble

I will definitely try this out when I finish my build next week!
I have been gaming with PlayStation controllers all my life and have always preferred them over Xbox controllers or any of the knock offs.
Thanks for posting this!

It seems that my PS3 controller works with my PC now but I don't know what games to try it on. I tried on Portal 2 but the controls are mixed completely so whenever I try and look up I shoot a yellow portal :P
Edit: Oh! I managed to get it to work by tweaking the inputs from the buttons/sticks in MotioninJoy settings! Portal with Dualshock 3! Hell yeah!

This will be great for racing games and (don't hate) for Batman: Arkham City, racers and third person games feel more natural with a pad to me, mouse and keyboard for everything else though.
